Guide On Call is not a catalogue of identical tours sold in dozens of cities. The offer starts with destinations I know, itineraries I have worked on and the practical demands of travelling with groups.
I am based in Marseille, with experience across France, the Benelux, Switzerland and major European river routes. For each assignment, I check the local brief, travel requirements and practical feasibility before confirming.
01Marseille & Provence
Marseille, Aix, Cassis and the wider region
Marseille and its neighbourhoods, Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, Avignon, Orange, Les Baux, Saint-Rémy and nearby historic landscapes. Urban history, Mediterranean trade, art, architecture and regional identities can all inform a group itinerary.
02Corsica
Guiding across Corsica
Ajaccio, Bastia, Corte, Bonifacio, Calvi, Saint-Florent, Porto-Vecchio and other island destinations. Coastal towns, mountains, political history, culture and local identity call for more than a generic island excursion.
03Paris
Neighbourhood walks and panoramic visits
Panoramic introductions and more focused walks through Montmartre, the Marais, Saint-Germain and other historic districts. The choice depends on the group, available hours and planned transport.
04Normandy & the D-Day sites
Normandy towns and D-Day sites
Rouen, Honfleur, Bayeux, Caen, the Normandy coast and Second World War heritage. D-Day itinerarys require particular attention to distances, historical context, group expectations and available time.
05The French Riviera
Cultural visits across the Riviera
Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Grasse, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Monaco, with itinerarys connecting artistic heritage, regional development and Mediterranean landscapes.
06Rhône Valley & Burgundy
City tours, wine regions and river cruises
Lyon, Vienne, Tournon, Tain, Beaune, Dijon, Mâcon and Beaujolais, including river-cruise calls and coach visits shaped by timing and the particular needs of the itinerary.
07Alsace & Eastern France
Historic cities and cross-border history
Strasbourg, Colmar, Mulhouse, Metz and Nancy. Architectural heritage, Franco-German history and the character of each town offer different ways into the region’s story.
08Belgium & the Netherlands
Amsterdam, Brussels, Antwerp and beyond
Amsterdam, Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges and Mechelen (Malines), alongside experience with group travel and river-cruise itineraries in Belgium and the Netherlands. Historic centres, art, trade and waterways offer rich material for cultural visits. Each assignment is checked for the specific city and itinerary.
09Switzerland & European river routes
Cruise routes and multi-city assignments
Itinerary-director experience on European itineraries extending into Switzerland and along the Rhine and its connected waterways. Guiding assignments in Switzerland depend on the city, language, local requirements and travel arrangements.
River cruises & multi-stop itineraries
The Seine, Rhône, Rhine, Moselle, Meuse and Scheldt have shaped much of my experience as a tour director. A good multi-stop itinerary depends on the relationship between ports, local visits, transfer times and guest expectations, not only the quality of individual excursions.
Don't see your destination?
Ask anyway. I will assess the itinerary, language, travel logistics and scope before proposing a solution. An unfamiliar destination should never be marketed as automatically available simply because it is on a map.
